Origami Owl

So those of you that know me, probably know I'm a sucker for direct sales.
I love 31 purses and totes, I have a Scentsy in every room, I don't think anybody makes better beer bread than Tastefully Simple, Creative Memories and Close To My Heart oh yes sign me up.  I sold Pampered Chef and Partylite long ago. You name it, I'll go to a party and sure thing I'll sign up to have one at my house.
So when my sister-in-law starting selling something called "Origami Owl" and posted about it on Facebook I checked it out immediately.

After the initial "OMG Allison like you need another hobby/job/thing to do" I fell in love.
Yup you guessed it, texted her my order pretty much right away.
Today when I got home there was a cute little box sitting on my doorstep.
And after getting over the fact that our furnace wasn't working and it was 59 degrees in our house, (it's fixed now, no worries) I tore it right open.
I should say too that this isn't the box that was actually on my doorstep, this cute box was inside another more heavy duty box, of course.
Allison didn't warn me how DANG CUTE THE PACKAGING IS!!
hello!
I want some of these cards to hand out to random people out in public.
Make Today Awesome!
The business card above had the inspector and packers name on the other side and that was in the bottom of the box.  Then my jewelry came in the cute little bag.

Heres the actual jewelry that I bought.  I went with the chain and tags.  There are so many things on the website to pick from.  I bought three seperate items.  The "family" tag, the heart accent, and the black onyx jewel.
I do love it, its totally me.  In fact I already texted her today to ask for a couple more pieces.
This would be such a cute gift to send to someone.
Now that you've seen what I ordered you need to go to the website.
There are products called "living lockets" that I think is their big thing.  You buy a locket and put all sorts of little charms in them.  And there are a ton of them.
That will be my next buy.
Allison has a facebook page too so you can "friend" her and get more information.
The story of the company is pretty cool to, go read all about it.
A teenage girl started it, pretty cool, and her names Bella, adorable!

I feel the need to sell this stuff....not because I need something else to do but because
YOU ALL NEED ONE.
And I want to be the one to sell it to you lol!

I'll let you know when Allison is coming down to do a party for me!
This is a picture that I downloaded off google, just so you can see what the living lockets look like.
So cute!

Biggest Loser

I honestly don't know how I can watch Biggest Loser every week and feel so emotional and still not do a damn thing about being overweight.
I could never do this show.
Not only would I punch Jillian in the face, I would also cry like a baby when she yelled at me everyday.
I'd have to be on Jillians team because I wouldn't be able to concentrate if I had to look at Bob or Dolvet all day long.
Plus I think I could appreciate her knowing that at some point in her life she was overweight.
The people in your life that are thin and look at you and wonder why your fat make me crazy.
I'm that person that wishes that every "normal" size person would have to be FAT for a whole day, better yet a whole week.
Know what its like to not be able to shop at a "normal" store,
know what its like to not "fit" in places,
know what its like to be at an amuzement park and wonder if you'll fit in the seat with the seatbelt on,
know what its like to pray the airplane seatbelt goes around your belly,
know what its like to hope for a table and not a booth, just in case,
know what it feels like to want to dance but are embarrassed that you'll look like a fool.
Oh I wanna run, I wanna be a runner.  I wanna take off running in my neighborhood and run run run.
I think I admitted to someone recently for the first time that I wanna run the Princess Marathon at Disney.  Thats my dream.
So reading this you are thinking then why the heck are you doing nothing about it....
I have the answer
the answer is
I don't know.

Mr. Tucker

Ask anybody....I've always wanted a Yorkie.
I did want a little girl.  I could put bows in her hair and dress her all up in pinks and purples.
Lame, I know.
Last year it finally happened.  Through some help from my aunt Rita I found Tucker.  He was so little.  A boy, yes but so so so cute.

And don't you worry he loves his sweaters.  He comes running over and ducks his head so I can put one on him.  I do think he likes to wear them outside because lets face it, its freezing.  The problem is he loves the snow.  He goes running out the back door and rolls in it.  He eats it and burys his face in it.  When he comes in his sweaters are soaked.  Then he's freezing.  He rolls around the carpet and tries to get the snow off.
His face is also usually covered in the snow when he comes in.
This last snow storm was enough snow that it was up to his belly.  When he would take off running in it, it just looked like a big snow cloud.  I know he hates to come in but the temps are just too low for him.  Even though he's loving it he's shivering from head to toe.

This is what he thinks of the cold temps.
Bring him some snow in the 40's and he'll be a happy boy!

Scrap Night Fridays

We're back in business!
Scrappin on Fridays when we can all manage to get together or at least 2 of us.
We missed April this week due to her lil Ms. Sarah having her 6th birthday but hopefully she'll join us next time.
Mesha worked on Valentine cards that were super cute.
Kelli worked on and finished two Disney autograph books for her upcoming Disney trip.
Cortnie took 2 hrs to download her digital scrapping to her computer haha.  In the meantime she was browsing pinterest for her upcoming wedding.
I made two Minnie Mouse headbands for our upcoming Disney trip in April
I LOVE THEM.
I did find the idea on pinterest.  I tried to go back and see who it originated with so I could give them credit but when I click on the actual photo its just that, a photo.  No blog, no how to, no way to give credit.  So I'm sorry if this is your idea and I didn't give you credit.
I will just say someone else posted this and I thought it was super cute so I tried it out.
I don't know how the original one was made but I made mine with glubbers (found at hobby lobby).  The huge circle glue dot looking things.  I just used cheap black ribbon and wound it around the glubber.
I added felt to the back to give it a little support.
Hot glued it to a head band and we're done!

I had to post this picture because Sarah and I were cracking up at her eyes!

The two I made are the same size.  If I were making this for a smaller child I would've used smaller glubbers.  It seems a little big for Sarah but I love it in my hair.
Next craft night I'll try to take pictures of everyones projects.
Mesha's cards were really cute and Kellis autograph books turned out cute too.
I could post a pic of the dress Cortnie had picked out but I don't think its "the one".

Next time I'm hoping to actually get back to scrapbooking.  I'm so far behind and with my new camera I feel like I'm taking more photos so it's just get worse.

Averie's Birthday

The Morales' had a small shindig for Averies 2nd birthday.  I was alone for the day so I went by myself.
Nobody pulls together a themed birthday party at the last minute like Kelli.
Only little Averie can be a hot mess and still be so dang adorable.
One boot on one boot off!

Here she is refusing to look at me while she knows I am taking her picture.
At least her hair is still done in this photo, so this is before she became the hot mess from the picture at the top.

Oh look cowgirl boots for the rotten cowgirl.
No really they are soooo cute.  She put them on and was rockin them like the cowgirl princess she was meant to be!

Storytime with Gigi.  Chicka Chicka Boom Boom of course!

Happy Birthday Averie!
Mrs. Nicole loves you even though you aren't ready to be friends yet.

Sunday Funday

This little precious pup is why I have a hard time blogging.  Whenever I sit on the couch he has to be on my lap.  He loves to snuggle and I can't turn him down.  He's such a little lover.

Jeremy and I have been trying to spend some time just the two of us.  Usually its running errands which isn't the most fun but hey we're trying to make it work.  Today it was Menards for some materials for Sarahs loft bed.
While we were there I took a picture of the awesome product below.....
Ok, who has one of these?  OMG where have I been, how have I not had one of these.  I just got one this year and I'm shocked that I haven't had one.  The snow and ice still isn't fun at 7 in the morning but this sucker keeps my hands warm and dry.  I HATE when the ice and snow sneaks up your coat sleeve and freezes your arm.  Even with gloves on it SUCKS, but not anymore. I love winter but I hate frosty mornings.  I think I'll be getting EVERYONE I know one for Christmas.
Easy-scraper, who knew.

Funny Right??  What do we even need to say about this picture?  These two sisters OMG what are they getting into down in FL?
This is one of those photos that can make me laugh no matter what I'm doing.

Seriously what were they doing?   Did she hit the button before they had a chance to smile?  Were they trying to figure out which button to push and hit the right one on accident?  Were they trying to look like thugs, mafia mommas?  What do you think?
Hey wait I think I see a manatee in the background!!

Random Idol Thoughts

1. I hate Nicki Manaj or however the hell you spell her name.

2.  Keith Urban is hot, really really hot.

3.  I am a bad judge of peoples voices, some that I think are good get blasted by the judges.  They tell them they are totally off key and I think wow I thought they were good.

4.  You shouldn't sing Justin Bieber songs for your try out song.

5.  Keith's facial expressions totally give away what he is thinking.

6.  I would try out just so I could see Keith and hug him and I know I can't sing.  Actually I suck really bad.

7.   Mariah is obsessed with the movie Mean Girls, I love it.

8.  I think I'm going to love Mariah another surprise.  Although it shouldn't be I love her "old" music.

9.  See I think the guy with one leg wasn't very good and I thought they were going to pick him cause he had a good story.  But refer back to #3, guess I'm wrong.  They said he sounded good.

10.  Have I mentioned Keith is hot?

11.  WHO TOLD NICKI TO WEAR THAT LIPSTICK??

12.  Mariah wants to let everyone through.  She will be the "nice" judge this year.

13.  I doubt I'll watch the whole season.

20 13

I know I said no new years resolutions in my last post but I have been thinking lately about several things I would like to do this year.  Some important, some pretty lame...I've made a list of my top 13.

1. Sort and go through the red junk room.  What that entails is to big to even consider.  There is more s**t in there then in the whole house put together.  I'd really like a cute little craft room, hahahahahaha

2.  Going along with the above goal I would like said cute craft room to have a "garage sale area".  That would mean all the crap that I find laying around the house that I realize I don't want, need, or EVER use would immediately get priced and put in this "area", again hahahahahaha.

3.  I've always wanted to redo our bedroom, (husband and all, lol).  I think I'll start with paint and go from there.

4.  I have a huge stack of old photos.  Not black and white old but 1980's old.  Some of my cousins and aunts and extended family.  When my parents divorced my mom went through old photos and gave me ones she thought I might like.  I also have my own and my husbands baby books.  The photos were scotch taped in the albums so the tape has since turned yellow and the photos have fallen off the pages.  I'd like to get these organized.  Someday down the road I may catch up on scrapbooking and have time to do an "old photos" scrapbook.  Someday.

5.  Fix my backyard flower beds.  Make them smaller, more managable.  I need my moms help with this, so this will be a summer project.  What I mean by that is, my mom will come visit and I'll send her outside to see my flower beds and she'll be disgusted at how overgrown they are and she'll FIX them.

6.  File bills, throw cable bills from 2003 away.  Keep stuff we need.  Simple

7.  Send out birthday gifts/cards to immediate family on time.  That means pre-plannning.
hmmmm maybe I'll just try to make sure I at least call.

8.  Cook with turkey burger more, instead of just beef burger.  I usually can't tell the difference so why not, right?

9.  Try more new recipes.  Thank GOD for pinterest.  We've really had some good food this past year.  Mostly from recipes from there.  So this is just something I'll continue.  Pin more, cook more.

10.  I'd love to visit a new state.  Last year I was ablet to go to Georgia to visit Jeremy while he was at school.  That was an a really fun trip.  I might just plan to go by myself to explore.  My favorite time in Savannah was wondering the streets by myself with no agenda.  Beautiful town, if you haven't been you should go.

11.  Start a vacation fund.  Actually put money away so we're not always waiting on tax money to get us there.  Easy peasy right, ha not!!

12.  I only had 11 things written down.  I was going to try to get to 13 since its 20"13" but I don't think thats going to happen.  Looking back at the list I'm hoping to achieve 2-3 of these things.  I just hoping to do better than a good friend.  Today she shared with me that her last years resolutions were to get in shape, clean/organize better, and blog more.  Well I'm pretty sure that was the last blog she wrote, she's now pregnant so getting in shape didn't happen....wait you know she did run last year quite a bit so she did have good intentions with that one, and her mom is now here cleaning her house for her since she didn't get it done in time for the party this weekend.  Not naming any names!

I'm going to save the lost weight, save money, eat healthier goals for next year.  Don't wanna get to cray cray!!

Saturday, January 5, 2013

So I've been reading blogs this morning.  Most of them are about the New Year and making resolutions.  This one won't be.  I don't make them, I used to but I never kept them and who needs that added stress in their life.  Certainly not me....
I have noticed that I only posted 71 times last year.  I went months without posting, then I would get on a roll and post everyday for a week.  I can't seem to make this blog a habit.  Perhaps because I write in so many other places...
I scrapbook and journal in those,
I have a "memory box" that I got several years ago and I like to write updates in there,
I update on facebook and twitter on a regular basis,
and my mom and I pass a notebook back and forth that I write in.
So with all of those sometimes sitting down to a computer and finding something to write about isn't always easy.  For a little bit last year I was super excited to get followers.  When I was up to 13 I thought I was big stuff, until I noticed on another Big Blog that she has over 13 thousand followers.  Good God what would I have to say that 13 thousand people want to hear about.  So I'm content with my 13 followers (Im pretty sure only 3 or 4 read regularly) and I'll continue to blog when I get the chance.  Mostly to post pictures or bitch about something I'm not happy about.
So no New Years resolution about posting more, no resolution to post more than 71 times this year, nope not at all.

Pierogies

When my mom, Grandma Turkey, was here in December we were lucky enough to have her at our house for a couple days.  We decided to make a batch of pierogi.  I let the kids skip school if they promised they would help out. Of course they jumped at that!

Jacob took the job very seriously.  He did a great job pinching.  Most of his were long with very little potato filling but boy they sure didn't fall apart.  Practice makes perfect.  I think he even tried some when they were cooked.

raw pierogi, dough and potato

mmmmmm, my favorite food!  Oh darn there were some broken ones that we had to eat.

Sarah sure liked them.  She ate her share of broken ones.  I think we made 5 dozen but ate a whole dozen ourselves.  The kitchen was a mess but we sure had fun.  I love to make pierogi.  I'm sure if it was something we did all the time I wouldn't love the pinching so much.  I love the thought of passing down a tradition from my grandmother.

 These are my favorite pictures.
My mom teaching my daughter how to pinch them just perfect.
My grandma wasn't so kind when she was making pierogi, all business.
Luckily my mom is a little kinder and patient with my kids.
Great memories being made here.

For now I only make these with my mom, soon I'll have to learn how to make the dough so I can pass this tradition down to my grandchildren.  Right now I am content just being one of the pinchers.

Gingerbread House making 2012

gingerbread deco

both working so hard to get it just right.

cheese!
We had to take our gingerbread house to Bay City to make this year cause we ran out of time at home.  Lucky Aunt Allison gets to keep it at her house.  Worked out well since Chase was able to help.  I don't know how I didn't end up with any photos of him.  The kids put it together on Christmas Eve and even then I almost forgot.  This year we were so crazy busy everyday.  This is one of Sarah's favorite Christmas traditions, I'm sure it has something to do with the candy that she consumes lol.
