Cali Baby!!

My trip to CA..what to say..hmmmm here are a few highlights.

I took this picture of Hermosa Beach. That is where we walked to the first day. Gary took Misty and I there and we had some drinks and watched the crazy World Cup fans celebrating in the court yard there. It looks pretty empty this day but on Sunday it was pretty busy.
I loved the day we went to Universal Studios. We had a lot of fun even though it was very hot.

This is on the pier in Manhatten Beach which is right down the road from Hermosa Beach. Misty and I spent a morning here shopping and walking around while we waited for Colleen to finish up some work. I'm wearing one of my only purchases while on vacation, a pair of sunglasses. Love them!

Even though we were at Fox for a short time, this was my favorite part. We went to see Gary and he showed us around. It was really cool to see where they film everything.
Not to mention we saw Craig Kilborn!

Here it is, the Samuel L. Jackson picture.
He wasn't very happy or very talkative.
No autographs today, just a picture ladies.

There are many more photos and many fun stories but what it comes down to is, we had a great time. Gary and Colleen and the cousins too were all wonderful hosts. I'm not a girl that could live there but I think I could visit on a regular basis!!

Tall Ships

While we were in Bay City last weekend (doing the trade off with the kids from Nana and Papa to Grandma Turkey) we went downtown to the Tall Ships Celebration.
Cool? yes! Total rip-off? yes!

We paid $6.00 a person. Not bad $24.00 to go see the ships and check them out....wrong. $6.00 0nly gets you into the park not on the ships. It was $15.00 a person to actually go on the ships. Thats nuts!!

I don't think that the kids actually cared that we just walked by them and not on them. Sarah asked once why we didn't go on them and I pointed out a really long line and told her that we would have to stand in that long line for every ship.

It was really hot so I know she was thinking there was no way she wanted to stand in line in the heat to get on the ships.
They are really cool and amazingly huge.
Unfortunetely I didn't really get any good pics of the ships. I was so happy to see my kids.

We went to Grandpa Tony's for lunch and personally I think that was the highlight of the day.

I think Jolie agrees with me, she loved her ice cream sundae.

We had a wonderful weekend in Allegan at Miner Lake. I love this lake. I have been going there every since Jeremy and I got married. In those 16 years we've only been there maybe 6 or 7 times. It's a great lake, gorgeous houses, good swimming, and we always feel welcome. Uncle Bruce always goes out of his way to make sure the kids have "things" to do. This year he bought a new trampoline for the water and a new tube for the boat. Aunt Ann always makes the yummiest food and makes sure that theres plenty of it. We spent the night there this year and it was so nice to wake up to the quiet lake. We always have every intention of going back again and again but life gets so busy that we never make it there after the 4th.
Here's to hoping we make it back there soon.

Sarah, the 7 year old

We spent her actual birthday pretty low key. We went to see Toy Story 3 and went to dinner at the chinese buffet. We had family over for her recital so we did the big cake and singing birthday stuff that night. She opened presents from us and we had a small cake.
and thank you to Auntie Kelli for the Justin Bieber cd to go along with the tshirt. I guess I'll have to listen to it now so I can make sure its appropriate for her.

I am thankful that Sarah seems to be following in my footsteps as far as reading goes. She loves a good book.

It's so hard to believe that she is 7.

Sensory Overload

This is all the stuff I got from my scentsy party.
I got
18 scents

4 full size burners

3 plug ins

and a hanging scent.

My sister in law does these home parties. If you are interested in having one definitely contact her. She lives in Bay City but she traveled to Battle Creek to do my party.
Send me your email in a comment on my post if you want her contact info and Ill get her the email address.
My house smells wonderful. I can't wait to get one going in my office at work tomorrow...think it will cover up the poopy diaper smell???? Here's to hoping.
