A Working Computer

So last night I thought I would be able to update my blog.
The home computer is home and hooked up and fixed????
BUT when I logged in the blogger site wouldn't open, so no blog.
I also couldn't open picasa or facebook.  This morning no go also.  hmmm
I'm blogging from work which means no pictures and limited time to blog.
I was so excited to blog and post the video and pictures from Jacobs wrestling meet.
HE PINNED SOMEONE!  HE WON!
I was so proud, like really proud.  I almost cried.
And I know that I embarrassed him by cheering him.
I'll keep trying to blog from home.  I feel like I have a bunch of good blog ideas which I'm sure I'll forget about when I'm able to blog on a regular basis again.
Fingers crossed that my laptop is fixed soon, that would solve all my problems.

I WAS on a roll.....

Due to no computers at my house right now because they are both broken, my blog will be taking a hiatus.
 Bummer.
I'm blogging this from my phone and phone blogging totally sucks.  I also have no access to my recent photos since I hadn't yet uploaded them to snapfish. Sooooo I'm pretty sure that I've lost all 2013 from Sept till now.  I do have some still on my card in the camera so hopefully I'll be able to do some catching up.
Who knows what will happen with the computers, hopefully they can be fixed because we certainly cannot be buying new ones right now.
I have the overwhelming urge to go into my childrens rooms and break something of theirs that they use everyday so they can feel my pain.  And once I have my laptop back their grubby little hands will not touch it.

Total Randomness

So we're snowed in.  Unfortunately not snowed in at our own home, snowed in at my in-laws.  Not the worst place to be.  Its warm, we're all together and works been cancelled for tomorrow.  We did try to make it home.  We got about 5 miles down the expressway and Jeremy turned around, I begged my boss to close my center and hell froze over.  I CANNOT believe we are closed.  I imagine the roads are as bad down home as they are up here.  Actually we were told it was worse the further south you went, I think that's what made Jeremy turn around.  He figured if we couldn't see the road and the suburban was sliding all over up here we wouldn't make it home.
We are up in Bay City for Grandma Meads birthday party.  It was worth the trip for sure but I'll be happy to get home but for now I looked through my phone and found some pictures that I've taken over the last few weeks.
This picture was taken at Meijers.  I know those duck guys have all sorts of merchandise.  We've bought a few things here and there.  But does anybody reading this blog watch Duck Dynasty???  Wasn't there an episode about Willie wanting to have a wine and it turned out nasty??  Am I crazy? So did they produce the nastiness or come up with some new recipe?  I didn't buy any, wasn't feeling like wine.  Although as I sit here snowed in I'm thinking I wouldn't mind a glass.

This picture was taken at Walmart and it doesn't due the parking job of the jerk next to me any justice.  I was still sitting in my car when this truck pulled into the spot next to us.  He was so close I thought for sure he would back out and straighten up.  Oh no he stayed there AND he had a ton of room on the other side so he could've reparked it.  If I would've been leaving I could've easily hit him.  I was so mad.
Got these two beauties in my Christmas stocking.  Santa knows what mama likes, lol.  Kind of wishing I had them with me right now.
What would you mix them with? Or just drink them straight??

Why oh why is it my daughter making that face.  Goofball.  She loves the photo booth, most of her pictures turn out this way.
And finally ewwwwwww
This nasty guy was under some files that were on the floor of my office.  I almost died when I picked up the files.  After taking a picture I quickly squished him and put us both out of our misery. I'm sure he was miserable right?

So that's it for now.  I'm sure I have several more "taken for no reason" photos on my phone. Maybe along with my new recipe a week post I'll do a random iphone photo post.
Once we make it home tomorrow I will upload the photos from Grandma Meads 80th birthday party and blog about that.  We had a great time.

New Year, new recipe

Well day 1 of 2014 and we did absolutely nothing.  Slept in till 10 got up and watched movies all day.  Guy movies, I'm in desperate need of a chick flick.  Platoon is the current movie of choice. I do love the old Charlie Sheen, the normal one.
Anyhow I let myself believe I could lay around all day today because tomorrow I gotta get serious.  I am going to de-Christmas tomorrow.  Ugh one of my most  dreaded days of the year.
So I'm happy to have brought in the New Year on a lazy note and I think my family was too.
I did make a new recipe today.
Sausage Chowder
It was delicious.  The photo doesn't really do it justice.  Jeremy really likes sausage, I however am not a fan.  haha whatever
But I do love potato soup so when I saw this recipe I thought maybe we could both be happy.
I don't remember where I found this recipe, not claiming it as my own but I can't give anybody credit either.

Sausage Chowder
1 pound sausage (I used Bob Evans regular flavor)
1 onion (I used 3/4 of a medium onion since onion isn't my favorite and I'm happy I did)
2 lg potatoes (I actually used 6 med sized red potatoes with the skins on)
3 cups milk
1/2 cup half and half (I had half and half but if you don't just increase milk by 1/2 cup)
2 bay leaves dried or fresh (I used dried)
1 can cream corn
Cheddar cheese
EVOO
salt and pepper
In a large pot, brown sausage in a little EVOO.  Remove browned sausage in a bowl and cover with foil to keep warm (you add it back in at the end).  Add chopped onion to the pot and saute in the sausage drippings.  Add in potatoes, milk, half and half, salt and pepper to taste, and bay leaves.  Simmer 20 minutes or until the potatos are tender, stir often.  Once potatoes are fork tender, add the sausage back in and add cream corn.  Heat through about another 5 minutes.  Serve and top with cheese.

When I made it we weren't quite ready to eat when it was finished so I left it on really low for an extra 20 min or so.  I don't think it made much difference other than keeping it warm for us.

I didn't put cheese on mine but Jeremy did.  I just didn't think it needed it.  To each their own.  I will definitely make this again.  Next time I'll make some cornbread or beer bread to go with it.

So that was our first day of the year.  Tomorrow Jeremy is back to work and I'll be trying to enjoy my last day off.  Maybe I'll spend some time on pinterest trying to find more yummy recipes.
