Green Lantern

I don't know who the Green Lantern is.
I don't know if this is like a Superman kind of character.
I don't know if he looks like the above picture in this movie.
I don't know if he is naked like in "The Proposal".
I don't know if he is Green the whole movie.
But what I do know is that I will be going to this movie even if I have to go by myself and endure another "going to the movies alone" fiasco like the last time I tried going alone....it will be worth it.

A Few Things I Know....

1. When I am old (like 70's old)I will carry a big purse and think I have the right away at grocery stores, CRAFT SHOWS, garage sales, and any other event that has a bunch of women trying to all shop in a small area.
2. On Thursday evenings in May at about 6ish it will rain, just enough to cancel soccer practice after I have driven across town with gas costing $4.00 a gallon.
3. When I am reading a series of books and get really into the series when I go to the library to get book 3 of the series it will be checked out.
4. On the day I wear jeans and flip flops to work my boss will come to visit.
5. I will never tire of Disney.
6. I will never own too many Coach purses.
7. Tide detergent is the best.
8. Nothing beats a Kenny concert
9. The car that just pulled out in front of me and is going 20 miles an hour is going to almost come to a complete stop and then....turn.
10. being a mom is hard, being a wife is harder.
11. Someone will call as soon as that show comes on tv that I really wanted to watch.
to be continued....

Mason

Hey what about me?

Averie's born and no more Mason blogs.

He's so busy I can't get a picture of him.

This was the best one I had out of about 10.

An Averie Blog

"I'm so over this carseat"

"Hey, why'd you take my paci?"

"Who's this lady think she is?"

"Oh Yea she's the one that is going to rescue me out of my carseat while my mom drops off my brother, and gossips with Mrs. Mesha!"

I love the Mason/Averie days at work. It's always fun to see Mason in his rain boots and Averie in whatever crazy bow her mom can find for her hair.

Our Campers first trip

Not the ideal weekend to go camping.

It rained, a lot.

The whole time we were out there.

Ok so it maybe stopped for 10 or 15 minutes here or there, but mostly it just rained.

The kids did a lot of reading.

Here is one of the non-raining moments. We had a fire and we were able to have hobo-pies.
Jacob got to be the fire master for a little bit.
He and Mike had to take turns cause Mike would like to be fire master too.

This is what happens to children when they can't play outside.

Sarah modeling with our new camper.

I LOVE IT!!

The Sarahs

Love these kids.

Respect yourself

This has really been bothering me lately. Why can't people cover up the fat? Being a big girl myself I feel like I can address this. I have been several places lately where I have been embarrassed for these woman. Yesterday at Family Fare there was a large woman with black skin tight pants on and a black tank top with spagetti straps with her white bra showing through. Why is that ok? Some people might argue that they are confident in the way they look and therefore should be able to do this. I DON"T WANT TO LOOK AT IT!

Seriously have some respect for yourself and cover up the fat. I honestly feel the same way about thin women who feel that it is necessary for me to see their belly. I'm talking in everyday life, not the bar or the beach. Like Target or picking their children up from school. Who are their mothers? Doesn't someone love them enough to say "Hey your fat rolls are hanging out". "I'd rather not look at the crack of your butt" "I realize you are a size 2 and have a six pack stomach but save it for someone else"

Another thing that bothers me is the way some people dress at work. I don't know how people are comfortable working with children when their pants are up their butt and their tank top/t-shirt is constantly riding up their belly. I hate words written across the butt, "Hey look at my butt and read what it says" Lets draw attention to the butt shall we.

One last rant....buy a bigger size. I realize you have worn a size 8 all your life and its hard to go up a size to double digits but you know what, rip the tags out. No one cares but you. You will be much more comfortable and I won't have to see your belly roll or your butt crack,

everyones happy.

Team Lightening

Sarah is on game two of this season. The first game I was able to go to and it was a tie. The teams were pretty evenly matched.

I'm loving the bright (very bright) orange jerseys.

I missed the game this past Saturday. Apparently they lost pretty bad.
Sarah said "mom, those kids were big"
Every year she's not sure she wants to play.
So I sign her up and she does great.
A soccer star?....only the future will tell.

Easter 2011

The coloring of the eggs!! A tradition we usually partake in with Nana but she decided to go to Hawaii this year, bummer.

Jacob has colored eggs every year with Nana since he was about 2. But we forgive Nana since it was a once in a lifetime trip that they have been dreaming about for most of their married life.
We had fun. I like to see the concentration on their faces while they try to decide which colors to use. Very creative they are.

Easter morning with his basket. The bunny went kind of crazy this year. Books, dvds, legos, and a little bit of candy....all stuff he needed of course.

Sarah's basket...again lots of stuff from the bunny, flip flops, squinkies, lip gloss, a little bit of candy....stuff a girl needs.

We had a wonderful Easter.

Baskets and breakfast

Church then brunch

All of our families were otherwise occupied so it was just the four of us.

I'm sad to say I'm afraid many of our holidays will be this way.

I'm a girl that likes a lot of family around me.

I like the hussle and bussle of big meals and parties.

I love our little family of four but I believe holidays were meant for crowds.

Things change, people move and move on with their lives....I'll get over it someday.
