Disney

I love to get the mail. I love getting magazines, catalogs, flyers, and anything else that comes. I hate paying the bills but I don't mind when they come. I'm sad when it is a day that there isn't any mail to get. I think that they should have to deliver 7 days a week.

So today I was extra excited when I went to the mailbox and found this.....

Our Disney itinerary and goodies for our trip.

A friend of Sarah's is going to Disney also but they are leaving this weekend so we won't be there at the same time. She facebooked about packing and how much she hates it. I love it, love packing for Disney. I've had my list made for at least 3 weeks of what we are taking. If I could pack our bags today and have them ready at the door I would.

I'm busy right now looking for some Minnie Mouse ears for Sarah. I have a pair but the bow is pink and her costume is red. Her Nana is making it so hopefully she will like it. So if your out anywhere and find a pair let me know. I have already looked at Target, the Halloween store (yes I did go in there, long story, maybe another blog), Walmart, the party store in kzoo next to target, and a few places online. Jacob is dressing as a pirate but very minimally...only the hat and a patch over his eye. He's apparently getting too old to dress up for Halloween at Disney. I think the fact that its still Sept when we go throws him off also.

Our new luggage tags, hmmm what to do with the old ones, a scrap page maybe! Also another magnet for the fridge, maybe I'll take this one to work. I know how Mesha loves to look at my Disney photos.

I was thinking that I probably shouldnt post all of this info about when we will be gone since maybe someone other than the fab 5 might be reading this. BUT I remembered that we have someone staying at the house with her big bad boyfriend so that they can take care of the dog. So you see it won't really be like we're gone. Don't you worry I'll send lots of text and picture mail to let you know what we're up to. Only 14 days till we leave and 15 till we're in Disney!!

Just a Kid

Jacob and Sarah first day of school last year

Jacob and Sarah first day of school this year!

They are both growing up so fast. Sometimes I feel like it was just yesterday that they were babies. I'm happy with the age that they are now. I really like them right now...I know that sounds strange but I mean I actually like them as a person, not just my child. I think they are both pretty neat. I love that Jacob is so kind hearted, sentimental, sensitive, smart, detail oriented, stubborn, and so freakin cute still. I love that Sarah loves to sing and dance, smile, pretend to be shy, be helpful, loves school, likes to make new friends but is still afraid to knock on the neighbors door by herself, and again so freaking cute still. I love how they both worry about others, not in an obsessive way but they really care. A perfect example of this is my friend Cortnie...now I'm not just writing this cause I know she'll read it but I think its a perfect example. Cortnie spent alot of time with us this past weekend. At one point Sarah asked "why is Ms. Cortnie here again" not to be mean just cause at 6 she wanted to know why Ms. Cortnie was here again lol. So I said to Sarah "Ms. Cortnie's kids are with their dad and its a holiday weekend and noone wants to sit home alone so mommy and daddy have asked her to spend time with us." Sarah seemed happy with this answer so she went about her business. Today after school we were talking about her first day and Sarah asked when Ms. Cortnie was coming over. I told her not today but maybe another day to which Sarah immediately looked distraught and I asked her what was wrong. She said "Are Zach and Lauren home with her?" and when I told her yes she said "ok good, cause we don't want her to be lonely"
Isn't that so sweet!!
So Cortnie I'm afraid your stuck with us, at least until Mr. Wonderful comes along....then he'll have to come over too.

Fans and bands could be getting so used to end-of-tour pranks that they might be disappointed if they don't happen, but it's still a surprise when it does, as it did to Lady Antebellum in Raleigh, N.C.
In Lady A's Webisode to fans, Hillary Scott said the band was "shocked" when Kenny Chesney's road crew came out on stage in zombie costumes during Lady A's set and started dancing to Michael Jackson's "Thriller."
Scott said she and Lady A "definitely felt the love and how much effort they put into the prank."

more kenny

Found this article and I know its past my week of Kenny but I was wonderin if maybe I could do a once a week Kenny????? That way you would know its coming and you could just skip over it if you wanted to.....Anyways he mentioned Detroit so I had to post it. I heart Kenny!

Billboard: What's your takeaway from this summer?
Chesney: This year I felt, in a way, more appreciative than ever. The other night in Detroit, right before I walked off stage, I told the fans, "I want you to know that I know what it took for you guys to come here tonight, and I appreciate it." I have an appreciation for what the fans have gone through this year to see us play. That's something I've thought about a lot on tour this year. I know it didn't have to be this good, and it was.
The way the world is right now, you should wake up every day and thank God that anybody cares about your music. There's so many things that get in people's head. Parts of the business have suffered, but the one thing I think people can't live without is experiencing the music you love live. That's what I love about live music, being a part of a shared moment for a couple of hours. It's like church service. It's like a revival. The other night in Detroit was like a revival. Unbelievable. All of a sudden they had something to cheer about, and I felt it. You can't replace that.

It's Never Easy to Say Goodbye

Just cause I can!
I was given a week to get the "Kenny" out of my system. I'm not quite sure if he is but I am moving on. So no more Kenny pictures...from my camera. But don't be sad if I find anything that you need to know, I will be sure to post it for you.

I Go Back!

So this is Jeremy's hobby. I don't get it at all. I don't understand the thrill of it. Usually the events happen in the summer when it is hot and humid and they are required to wear all those authetic clothes. It just looks hot and miserable to me. From what I understand at each event they portray some battle from the Civil War. And then they pretend shoot each other. If you get "shot" you have to lay down and play dead. Jeremy loves this, he is passionate about it. He wants to attend every "battle" and even when he pretends that he's not disappointed I know that he is upset when he has to miss one. A few days leading up to the event he gets his stuff ready. He has to bring only authentic items, items which they wouldve used back then. He only eats food that they wouldve ate back then. His clothes are clothes only a soldier wouldve worn, right down to his boxers. He spent the better part of the last two weeks sewing a new shirt for this weekend, yes hand sewing.
Like I said I don't understand the obsession, but I know he loves it and I guess thats what matters. After all I don't expect him to understand my hobby. He wouldn't understand the thrill of finding just the right paper for the perfect picture. He doesn't get it when I take a picture and I can't wait to print it because I know just the right lay out I'm gonna use. So thats why it works for us to have seperate hobbies. Thats why several nights or weekends a year we go our own ways and do what we love...seperately!

All You Need to Know

Okay this is it Mesha, until tomorrow maybe, I do have one more day. This one is by far the best....he's one helluva kisser!

At Crew Stadium in Ohio, it’s a typical night at the office for the headliner. Backstage he commands a small army: 11 buses, 20 semitrailers, 115 crew, staff and musicians, plus assorted high-profile fans from the sports world. NFL linebacker Mike Vrabel, ESPN commentator Kirk Herbstreit, and former major-league pitcher Kent Mercker shake his hand, exchange hugs and toast their pal with beers (Chesney abstains pre-show, limiting himself to a low-cal dinner and water). He gathers with his band in a dressing room, where a newspaper photographer is waiting outside to snap a few pictures as they make their way toward the stage.
“Slowly,” he commands his bandmates as they turn the corner to face the camera. “And be iconic.”
The singer is clad in a sleeveless T-shirt, tight jeans and a palm-leaf straw cowboy hat. He leads a 13-piece band, replete with horns, percussion and as many as five guitars. At the foot of the three-tiered drum riser, a dozen brightly colored bras dangle from a stand, collected as offerings from the audience. That’s about as risqué as the show gets. Chesney is a PG entertainer, his two-hour concert slamming rapid-fire from one hit to the next as he surveys a 15-year career that has produced 20 No. 1 country singles, from the hackwork “
She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” to Everyman anthems such as “Back Where I Come From.
Not bad for a guy who came to music relatively late in life. As a kid he was obsessed with sports. As a baseball player, he modeled his game after “Charley Hustle” --- the now-disgraced baseball star
Pete Rose who made his reputation with his all-out style.
He grew up hustling in Luttrell, Tenn., outside Knoxville, the son of a hairdresser mother and a schoolteacher father. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother remarried to a construction worker. He describes a humble life that revolved around “friends, family, school, church … and girls.” He was one of 135 students in his 1986 high school graduating class
“We were lower-middle class and everyone I knew was --- we didn’t know there was anything different,” he says in his tour bus a few hours before the show. “I have this theory … this is a bit of curveball, but people who are really good kissers never have anything given to them. People who can’t kiss had everything given to them. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I’m a helluva kisser.”
Chesney laughs uproariously. In public, he wears his cowboy hat (or, in his more casual moments, a baseball cap) 24-7 to cover up a scalp that has been balding since he was 19. His muscular torso belies his smallish 5-foot-7-inch frame. Backstage, the 41-year-old singer could pass for a kid half his age, dressed down in baggy basketball shorts and hatless after a morning workout. He is a bundle of tightly wired energy with boyish, almost elfin facial features and ears. He is fighting a cold, but becomes animated in conversation, pondering questions while rubbing his face until it flushes red.
