Halloween 2013

I'm sad to say that Sarah hated her Halloween costume this year.  She told me she wanted to be an angel.  So we looked online but couldn't really find what she had in mind.  I told her I could make her a skirt and then we could just add wings and a halo.  She was fine with that.
Well fine with it until it all came together, then not so much.  She never really told me what she hated about it but she didn't want to wear it. The wings annoyed her cause they were constantly hitting things and she added the sweater cause the shirt I got her "made" her cold.
Whatever, I'm just glad its over.
And I thought she looked cute.
Pictures were not happening happily this year.
Tuck on the other hand loved his costume.  He sat in front of the door and showed it to everyone that came by for candy.
And sadly this is Jacob on Halloween night.
No costume
No trick or treating
I offered to help him figure out a costume but he did not want to go.
Very very sad mom hates to see him grow up.
On the other hand he and I spent the evening handing out candy. Having him all to myself and chatting for the few hours that we passed out candy was great.
I had over 500 pieces and almost all of it was gone.  He and I ate a few of our favorites,
Jacob/fruity tootsie rolls
 mom/snickers.
Another shot of Tucker in his hot dog costume.
Buddy thought he was pretty cool.

The kids carving their pumpkins.  They better never get too old to do this.  They still need me to get the gunk they can't get out of the pumpkins so at least I still get to be involved.
Jacob went with the U of M theme this year.

Sarah went with the usual scary Halloween face.
I did find out that a magic eraser works well on the pumpkins if your kids use marker to draw on the design.  After Sarah had it the way she wanted it we used one to wipe off the black marker left over.

Saturdays

We had a pretty busy Saturday, errands and nasty weather can make for a long day.
First stop, Ann's Pet Parlor for Tuckers grooming appt.  Nothing to report here other than the fact that the groomer wears a ridiculous hair piece and I can't stop staring at her.
 Sorry no pics, too obvious.
Next stop Springfield Farmer's Market.
I had heard about a new cupcake shop opening up and wanted to check it out.
Bumbleberries
So glad we stopped .
Flavors from top to bottom, left to right.
Guiness (yes made with Guiness beer) this was Jeremys pick,
Key Lime, mmmm reminds me of mom,
Maple Bacon, yes bits of bacon on top.  This was picked for Jacob.
Root beer Float, Sarahs pick.
Mocha, oh yes this ones for me.
Apple Strudel, just for fun.
Jacob thought this was the coolest thing ever.
He said that the actual cupcake tasted like pancakes.
I think his taste buds were tasting the maple and his brain thought of syrup, so then of course he thought of pancakes.

I tasted it, it was good.
Jacob says he would order it again.
Sarah picked the root beer float one just like I thought she would.
This one has not been eaten yet so I can't say what we think.
I love the heart cookie on top.
Mocha oh how I love you.
This was AHmazing.
There was a delicious chocolate frosting on top of the cupcake and then another big chunk of chocolate frosing topped with a vanilla flavored chunk on the very top.
I ate it with a fork and loved every bite.

So after dog grooming, cupcake shopping, grocery shopping, getting gas, returning library books, buying biggby coffee, picking up the last of the lumber for Sarah's loft bed, and shopping at TJMaxx for luggage for our Disney trip we finally made it home.

I decided to make White Chicken Chili.
I've never made it before.
I've had recipes, I've eaten it at others houses, but never myself.
The best I've ever had was from my friend Korey in Florida.
She was such a great cook but her white chicken chili was my favorite.
I'm so glad I made it.
The house smelled great and even better it tasted great.
I also made cornbread.
The above picture is before I added the cheese and sour cream.  The sour cream is what makes the white chicken chili "white" so thats why it's not white YET.

I pinned the recipe I used.
Last stop of the day was at TJMaxx
.  I wanted to look at luggage for our Disney trip.  We don't have any big pieces anymore so we have to buy some before we leave in April.
While I was there I had to check out the pet section.
 They have the cutest stuff.
I ended up buying Tucker a new bed.
  Its so super soft.
And as you can see from the picture above he kinda likes it.

So it was a busy day.
I sit here blogging, watching dvred shows, and listening to the saw in the garage.
Jeremy is almost done with Sarah's bed.
We'll all be happy when its done.

Mr. Tucker

Ask anybody....I've always wanted a Yorkie.
I did want a little girl.  I could put bows in her hair and dress her all up in pinks and purples.
Lame, I know.
Last year it finally happened.  Through some help from my aunt Rita I found Tucker.  He was so little.  A boy, yes but so so so cute.

And don't you worry he loves his sweaters.  He comes running over and ducks his head so I can put one on him.  I do think he likes to wear them outside because lets face it, its freezing.  The problem is he loves the snow.  He goes running out the back door and rolls in it.  He eats it and burys his face in it.  When he comes in his sweaters are soaked.  Then he's freezing.  He rolls around the carpet and tries to get the snow off.
His face is also usually covered in the snow when he comes in.
This last snow storm was enough snow that it was up to his belly.  When he would take off running in it, it just looked like a big snow cloud.  I know he hates to come in but the temps are just too low for him.  Even though he's loving it he's shivering from head to toe.

This is what he thinks of the cold temps.
Bring him some snow in the 40's and he'll be a happy boy!

More Tucker

Sorry, more pics of my baby.
He's a little turd!
Good thing he's so cute.
Tucker the Easter Egg Hunter!
Here he is with something in his mouth.
There is hardly any time of the day that he isn't chewing on something.
I keep saying its just like having a baby.
But at least with a baby, you can put them somewhere and they don't move.
This little guy is into everything. We all have to look for him all the time. He likes to chew shoes, laundry baskets, blankets, his bed, toes, and Mya.

These are My Days...

We've been pretty busy this last month.
I'm not complaining, I just can't believe that its already the middle of April.
My favorite so far was Easter weekend. I had the best Easter this year.
My in-laws came down on Friday and we got everything ready for the Easter dinner at our house on Saturday. We were all so relaxed and ready that Saturday was a wonderful day.
We started the morning coloring eggs.
Jacob has colored eggs with his Nana for 10 yrs. We've only missed two of his 12 years. He still enjoys mixing the colors and spending that time with Nana.

I'm happy to say that it worked out that our niece, Jolie, was able to come down with Nana and Papa and spend the weekend also. Her and Sarah get along so well. She went with Sarah to her cookie sale on Friday night which meant that Jeremy and I and Nana and Papa went to dinner just the 4 of us. I'm pretty sure thats the first time that has happened since Jacob was born. We had a great time.

My sister in law put together an Easter egg hunt for the kids. (Thank you so much Emily, since I know you're reading)
Along with our family, the Couch's, the Morales' and the Swanson's came over to celebrate Easter with us. It was a great day. Sun was shining, kids were having fun, and the food was delicious.

This has been our main source of busy-ness!
Tucker, please go potty outside!!

We attended a very special Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday party, for my favorite 3 yr old.
You should hear this little guy sing "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid, amazing!!
I'm serious about Disney in February, are the Morales'??
Sarah and I have been baking, chocolate chip banana bread is our favorite.

Trying to keep Tucker busy in any way possible. I forgot what its like to have a baby.
I'm hoping we settle into a routine pretty soon.
Summer's coming and we have tons of plans already. Jeremy has reenacting, Sarah has camp, Jacob will have football and scouts, and I have a couple scrapbooking weekends a couple concerts, and trying to figure out a way to travel to Dallas in October, hmmmm!
